Selfishly, I like to think this issue (our annual Renovation Issue!) was made for me. After almost 10 years of sprucing up a well-kept brick bungalow built in 1938, my husband and I bought an absolute dog. The bones were extraordinary, and the house was regal, sitting up on a hill surrounded by mature trees in a charming neighborhood across town. Inside, natural sunlight lit up lots of woodwork, oak floors, and funky details original to 1918.
